BioEden Species Hub
Charles, DNA, and the creatures you actually hatch—not a combat roster.
This hub is the Species section of the wiki, even though the folder still says players in the URL. BioEden does not have a PvP roster. It has a robot tutor, a Bestiary of extinct animals, and a DNA economy that turns fragments into incubators. You play a Keeper for the Cosmic Collective. The planet is the other character. Everything that lives—Charles included—sits here so the Guides can stay on how-to and the tier lists can stay on ranks.
Focus Entertainment’s pitch is cozy solarpunk management: recycle debris, weave solar and water, and welcome dozens of species back into interconnected domes. The Steam tutorial is the hands-on version of that pitch before the 3 September 2026 launch on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2. Use this hub when you want to know who Charles is, how DNA fragments become a Landowl, and why a carnivore in the same room as a herbivore is not a team comp.
Who lives on these Species pages
Charles is the small robot companion who walks the tutorial. He is a voice for the outside hex loop and the inside dome loop. He is not a combat pet, not a deployable unit, and not a guild. If you searched “companion” expecting an ability bar, that page is the correction.
DNA and Bestiary is the unlock loop. You gather DNA fragments, open the Bestiary, select a species, press Analyze, and spend the fragments. The biome knowledge tree sits beside that catalog: research points unlock plants, devices, and more fragments, gated by tabs such as Forest, Jungle, Prairie, Savannah, and Tundra. Landowl’s confirmed panel is the example this wiki will actually quote: 20–45°, 55–90% humidity, ferns.
The animals themselves are not a third empty page yet. Care, diet, and dome layout live in animal care. First-hatch ranks live in the animal rankings. Read those two before you treat the Jungle list—Landowl, Slink, Ributs, Basker, Fimble, Thudder, Mirra—as a collectible checklist. Named sites such as Red Forest are planet locations, not extra pets.
How Charles, DNA, and creatures connect
Keepers bounce between two maps. Outside, you explore hexes, salvage wreckage, purify water, and grow an ecological footprint. Inside a dome, you tune temperature, humidity, plants, food, and diet. Charles introduces both maps in order. DNA is how the inside map gets a resident. The resident then makes the outside map mean something: a restored Jungle is not a screenshot if nothing hatched.
That is why this hub refuses to talk like a fighter wiki. There are no fail states. Recycle returns materials. A bad hatch is an afternoon, not a wipe. The 15–20 hour campaign scheduled for 3 September 2026 is still that same pair of maps with guild modifiers on top. Guilds—Euler, Orin, Darwin, Xylar, Umbra—are philosophies for how you restore, not species. Rank them on the guild list or sort them with the guild picker. Darwin cares more about flora and fauna study; that still does not turn Charles into a biologist you equip.
If you are brand new, do not start here. Start with Getting Started, then come back when the Bestiary is open and Charles has stopped holding your hand. If the tutorial is the only thing you have, the demo guide explains why that save will not transfer.
What to open next
Open Charles if the robot is the question. Open DNA and Bestiary if fragments, Analyze, incubators, or cocoons are the question. Open resources if the question is Dinitrogen, orbs, debris, or a stockpile card. Open animal care if a living creature is already stressed. Open biomes if you are picking a dome tab instead of a species card. Open buildings if the globe is the problem and the bird is fine.
This wiki is unofficial. Confirm storefronts on Links and the calendar on the launch notes. The Species section will grow when the full roster is in players’ hands. Until then, treat Charles as the tutor, DNA as the spend, and Landowl as the first proof that the planet can hold life again.
A good Species session is small. Talk to Charles until the HUD makes sense. Analyze one card. Hatch it. Leave the rest of the Jungle list closed. That is the whole hub in four actions, and it is enough for a tutorial planet that still has to look alive on 3 September 2026.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Why is this section called Species if the URL says players?
The wiki category is Species. Charles, DNA, and hatched animals live here. Start with Charles or DNA and Bestiary.
Is Charles a playable character?
No. He is a robot tutor for the outside and inside loops, not a fighter. Details are on the Charles page.
Where do I unlock animals?
Spend DNA fragments in the Bestiary and press Analyze, then hatch from an incubator. The loop is on DNA and Bestiary.
Where is the animal tier list?
First-hatch ranks are on the animal rankings. Care and diet stay in animal care.
